In 1998, Member Service Group (MSG) was formed in Urbandale, Iowa, as an administrator of electronic payment systems designed for member-based organizations. MSG’s mission was two-fold: provide payment technologies regarded as affinity programs that offered competitive, member-only rates; and provide non-dues revenue for the association or buying group. By 2000, MSG was providing payment processing services to small and mid-sized merchants from over ten different member-based organizations across the United States.
Today, MSG is a fully-integrated payment systems processor with over twenty-five state and national partners, representing more than 30,000 merchants.
