In 1998, Member Service Group (MSG) was formed in Urbandale, Iowa, as an administrator of electronic payment systems designed for member-based organizations. MSG’s mission was two-fold: provide payment technologies regarded as affinity programs that offered competitive, member-only rates; and provide non-dues revenue for the association or buying group. By 2000, MSG was providing payment processing services to small and mid-sized merchants from over ten different member-based organizations across the United States.

 

Today, MSG is a fully-integrated payment systems processor with over twenty-five state and national partners, representing more than 30,000 merchants. The company has leveraged its relationships to negotiate competitive pricing as well as develop strategic alliances with leaders in the electronic payments industry, all of which further expand MSG’s ability to better serve merchants nationwide..
